HalalHacks aims to encourage Muslim students from the Northern California region to come together, innovate, and create technology projects that benefit society, on both a local and global scale. We offer many opportunities for students to network and grow, including a mentoring program, workshops for coders of all backgrounds, tech talks from guest speakers, and other social events.
HalalHacks is hosted by the UC Berkeley Muslim Student Association in partnership with UmmaHacks, with an organizing team made up of students from UC Berkeley and several other universities across Northern California, including Stanford, UC Davis, and UC Santa Cruz.
Mentors are on hand throughout the event, nurturing individual teams or answering questions that any participants may have to ensure that their project ideas become reality. We provide the opportunity for experienced individuals to give back to the Muslim community.
